For the first time in 3 years, they were able to reenact Washington’s crossing of the Delaware. The past couple of years it was either too windy or the river conditions weren’t right to safely make the crossing, which was immortalized in this famous painting and marked a turning point in the Revolutionary War as until that point Washington had been on the run from the Brits since the Battle of Long Island and Brooklyn.
