I actually feel almost sorry for Hot Air and Ace of Spades. They’re at the point I was at about two years ago, with thousands of comments and no way to moderate them because their blog software is still in a primitive state.

They don’t have anyone with the skills to help them improve things, so they lash out at people who do. They’re riding the tiger.

Huffington Post does have similar tools — and Arianna paid through the nose for them. But it’s helped them get control and keep their site from becoming the sewer it was on the verge of being.
