For all the descendants this country has of religious minorities that came here because of persecution it baffles me. It is interesting that in the past that religious people were some of the most ardent champions of separation of church and state but their descendants like Santorum/Palin condemn it.

I guess they want to go back to Puritan theocrats criminalizing and chopping off the heads of Quakers. /

That kind of ruthlessness is why we need separation of church and state to begin with.
