Not a great loss for the Democratic party, but still a loss. That district is fucked in the head due to its large anti-choice population. I’m sure his retirement will be spun as a victory for the tea party and wing-nuts who are making threatening phone calls to Democrats—even if that isn’t the primary reason he retired.

Don’t forget he received the same type of threats when he was holding out voting on the health care bill.
