Yeah we’re a little passionate about our sports here but that’s definitely not an uniquely American trait. Hell I may even go as far to say our fans are less fanatical than European ones.

On an individual basis this may be true (I don’t think so, but….). What is true is that abominations such as compulsory school pep rallies are not common in Europe while they are not exactly unknown in the US.
