Even if it is an overheard remark, it makes the speaker sound like an asshole to me, because ‘agreeing’ with another person’s lifestyle is often as relevant as ‘agreeing’ with another person’s race or religion. It’s nobody’s business, and someone who feels compelled to express their disapproval of another human, especially if that human has no impact on the disapprover’s life, is an asshole. It’s a little stronger of a term than I would post, unless I knew of maddening specifics, I would say jerk.

I’m sorry, but I just don’t agree, in large part because if I were to consider all such moralizers jerks I’d have to consider too many people to be jerks.
