I don’t think that you’ll need to dial 1 before the area code unless you’re calling long-distance. We transitioned over to ten-digit dialing a few months back in preparation for 988 service, and I haven’t had to dial 1 before the area code for local calls yet.

nah… I have to dial 1+areacode+number to call the pizza delivery place two blocks away. Or the front desk of my own building. It’s been like this for awhile.
