Back in the day, I was a small town lawyer. I and those like me always looked forward to when the annual carnival came to town, because it always brought with it an uptick in low-level criminal activity that led to an uptick in the need for lawyers to defend the alleged criminals, who were often people associated with the carnival.

What were their “crimes”

From the ones I’ve met, they usually don’t go off the compound (except to get groceries) and the only trouble they have is when a patron tries to pull some shit at the carny
