I’d say ‘fiscally pragmatic’ rather than conservative.
But I want every government program tested to see if it actually works, and junked or redone if it doesn’t, and every new bill to have metrics for its success and built-in sunset provisions that kick in if it is judged not successful.
I think a lot of what’s wrongly called ‘fiscal conservatism’ is just being penny-wise but pound-foolish’, but in terms of philosophy, I’m pretty conservative. I want results.
That’s crazy-talk.
