There’s a legitimate argument about whether Afghanistan is of strategic importance to us sufficient to warrant the kind of investment we’re making, but as long as our troops are there, I’m rooting for them!

I would (respectfully) argue that it matters:
We ran from Lebanon and it emboldened the Islamists.
We ran from Somalia and it emboldened the Islamists.
We defeated AQ in Iraq, and they ran, and they’re afraid.
Afghanistan…who knows?
