I’m going out later to pick up some free drugs from my local pharmacy. If I needed them I’d get free insulin and even chemotherapy drugs and I’m not special, anyone living where I do (Scotland) has the same deal going on.

Best guess? “If it’s ‘free,’ then there’s obviously something wrong it. If it worked, then they would be charging for it!” The idea is to play on people’s distrust of anything advertised as “free,” that there’s usually some hidden “catch” that secretly jacks up the price.
