I can understand nitpicking if there are several candidates with similar names on the write-in ballot,. But the key guideline here is “intent” and I think that must be clear: how many Murkowskis could they be talking about?

Anything else is just obfustication and obstruction of the electoral process, and Alaska and the nation is doing itself a disservice by allowing that in any form.
