I would grant bail with an amount that would actually hurt the accused in the case of flight (which is what bail is meant to do after all).

If we can pay for a couple dozen school teachers in the Bronx for a decade with the proceeds, he can fuck off as far as I’m concerned.

What about justice for the woman he attacked? And we know she’s not the only one. The State has to defend the victims and seek justice for them.
