Freepers are going on at some length about “who does he think he is to dictate his terms?” They seem to miss the point that if he does it, he will be doing the GOP a favor.

I think they are missing the point that he doesn’t want the job. He knows the FC will knife him in the back the first time he doesn’t do what they demand and having a failed Speaker of the House gig on his resume will be a black mark against him when/if he runs for the Senate or POTUS. The man may be a first class douche canoe , but he isn’t an idiot.
