Limbaugh is just one organ, the mouthpiece, the disease is systemic throughout the GOP. If you replace rural Ugandans with the economy it explains filibustering the debt ceiling.

I don’t really see the things as the same. Using the debt ceiling was defensible as a political tactic, and further it was an attempt to rein in spending perceived as out of control by Republicans. It was an attempt to solve a real political problem.

Limbaugh’s words, by contrast, are simply an attempt to capitalize on the ignorance of his audience in order to score political points and radio ratings. This is a much lower sort of goal, and in alienating a good and loyal ally would put the security of every American at risk.
Limbaugh was far worse than anything done in Congress.
