Yeah after 2008, I’m not buying the GOP’s demise. On another note, it was interesting to read about Lincoln’s role in the formation of the GOP. I got Carl Sandberg’s Lincoln bio on Audible. Fascinating stuff. Really appreciate that Lincoln opposed the Know Nothings.

The Never Trump types, I think, are smart enough to know that if they are going to build a third party (assuming the GOP cannot be reformed because Trump still sits on the throne) they’ll have to start in the state legislatures and the House. Which means they’d have to gear up for 2022.
