Let’s see what else is happening now:

I’m trying to schedule time to walk down to the river to sit and contemplate the mystery of Being (flowing by, like the river itself, into which one can never step twice, and all that sort of thing). Problem is, can’t seem to find an excuse the Frau is willing to accept to let me just head off like that.

(So far as she knows, I’ve got no soul worth mentioning - I’m a stats and dollars and cents kinda guy to her. If she knew about this sort of side of me - that I write and have been published under pseudonyms and as a ghost, etc. - she’d probably go berserk.)
