Yes, I’m getting married, to another atheist, in June, and we both would like to be ‘married’.

When you say to get the government out of the marriage business, do you mean to remove all the federal laws that relate to marriage at all, and grant those partners no special rights at all? Would people be required to draw up contracts granting each other the rights they’d currently enjoy when being married?

Honest question, trying to figure out how this would work.
