If the pandemic team had not been disbanded, if PREDICT were not canceled, if the American epidemiologist embedded in China’s CDC had not been removed — we might have been on this in November when supposedly the first hints of the Wuhan disaster were unfolding and COVID-19 may never have become a pandemic. It might have been possible to stop this early and prevent its worldwide spread.
Yes — there is a problem because it can be transmitted by people who are asymptomatic or who have mild symptoms and therefore perhaps a pandemic was inevitable, but we will never know since we cannot explore the alternative approach. But I’m sticking to the thesis that Trump is responsible for this global crisis.
