Seagulls are acclimatized by bad behavior. They get bad in places where there are tons of people and the lowest common human denominator gets them accustomed to being fed. In the wild out here on the west coast, on beaches that don’t see huge crowds they behave themselves just fine.

The reason people won’t be picnicking on that beach is that they’d be too close to the seal rookery, violating the Marine Mammals Protection Act.

I saw some seagulls today while I was out shopping. Unless something happened that I’m not aware of, Nashville is a bit of a distance from the nearest seacoast.
