This afternoon I took my son from Toronto & his kids to visit the street in Detroit where I grew up.

Anyway we were standing in front of the house & gawking & taking pictures like a bunch of freaking tourists (it is a very quiet neighborhood) & the lady comes out of the house wants to know what we are so interested in.

It turns out not only does she live in the house but is a realtor so of course wants to know if any of the fixtures are part of the original so she invited us in for a tour.

I am very pleased that most of the original fixtures are intact and I am especially pleased that this house is beautifully maintained and the neighborhood has been declared a “historic treasure.”
