Messing with Medicare or Medicaid would be one thing. Hell, a budget that did just that might actually get some traction, as it would be about cutting spending in order to get the budget under control. But coupling said “reform” with a 10% cut in taxes for the wealthiest, as well as the elimination of all corporate taxes? That’s political seppuku, something that the Democrats will never sign on to. The GOP just sacrificed the House on the altar of their own ideology.
