I don’t get it either. I understand why it’s an emotional issue for Cuban-Americans such as yourself but we not only dealt with communism in Romania, we were on good terms with them. If Anti-Castroism was backed up by a consistent opposition to authoritarian government, I could respect it.

I’m honestly not even emotional about it. I’m not sure my mom or her siblings would be particularly emotional about it. I’ve some wingnutty cousins that might be, but that feels like a chicken and egg thing. For me, if you really want to make [insert communist or former communist country here] then the best way to do that is to engage with them; and really that’s what I want. I want to see Cuba flourish, not waste away.
