If the pre-existing condition component is kept, then they couldn’t deny you coverage for a lapse nor could they make your rates different. That’s the entire point of that component.

Now, there is enforcing that that comes into play.

You are accepting GOP assurances at face value? Buhlieve me, any GOP replacement plan will require people with preexisting conditions to maintain continuous coverage; that is their alternative to the mandate.
