but absent some gross misunderstanding about how to greatly exceed the speed of light during travel, we’ll need to develop wicked terraforming tech because we’ll be limited to our solar system…which then begs the question of why we wouldn’t then also be good at forming our own terra;)

Of course that’s a resource vs. population problem. Pandemics, climate, asteroids, world wars notwithstanding. I really don’t sit around thinking about the end of mankind.

Architecturally speaking we can always build up and then there are the oceans. We’re no where near that stage yet since we are also waiting for most of the G77 nations to stop killing homosexuals and executing blasphemers.
