Without knowing a lot about either of them, I’m leaning towards Srinivasan, too. I think all other factors being equal we need to come down on the side of diversity which Srinivasan provides in terms of race, religion and education. Stanford isn’t exactly State U. or whatever, but at least it isn’t Harvard or Yale.
I’m sure all the “powers that be” will be very interested in my opinion. ;-)

Srinivasan also has the added benefit of having been confirmed by most of the same Senators in office now with a 97-0 vote. I eagerly await their explanation for why they could confirm him just a few years ago but now it’s a bridge too far.
