We have loads of spiders here in the backwoods, but the wolf spiders will occasionally charge.
Sometimes I mistakenly use the wrong end of the shotglass in my attempt for a humane capture & release.
And sometimes my foot moves faster than my hand…

It might have been a wolf spider that charged me; they have them here in Europe as well.
