I can see that, but if we’re going to play with the idea that a Muslim extremist who is a US citizen carries out a terrorist attack on US soil is an enemy combatant, these guys also fit that definition.

I’m more comfortable saying that I disagree with treating Padilla like an enemy combatant, and that citizens are different than noncitizens. But at least we’re both being consistent about it!
