This would be SUCH a bad move. The money that OGB has managed to accrue is not state fund money, it’s EMPLOYEE-PAID PREMIUMS. It’s NOT THE STATE’S MONEY.

This agency is dedicated to providing the best possible choices and coverage for state employees, their dependents, teachers, retirees, a whole host of people are covered by this program. They’ve managed to accrue a surplus, which means our premiums won’t be going up until they HAVE to. They just dropped the lifetime maximum on benefits. They have provided excellent service to employees.

The former director was fired a couple of months ago; his governor-chosen replacement resigned a couple of days ago. I’m guessing he thought it would be an easy job and he found out it wasn’t? pfft.
