Perot was just an as big as an outsider to politics. I don’t think that’s quite what it was. I think he said a lot of things that our white majority population wanted to hear and the equally white majority in the media especially ownership didn’t call it out for what it was lest they fear “offending” “middle America.”

Perot was not a reality TV star. And the entire media and press landscape back then was different than today’s.
