re: #312 MandyManners

Do employees get NO raises, at all? Must one be promoted in order to get a raise? No raises, no bonuses: where’s the incentive to work harder?!

I don’t know how they go about it. I’m a sub-contractor. I work with a group of contractors but get paid by the company that hired me. I guess salaries are based on what the government pays the contractors. With no expectations of a promotion or raise, I do the bare minimum. Most of the time.

The Metro fares are going to be raised again this month, and it’s the biggest fare hike in their history. I’m going to email the HR guy about this and ask if those of us who rely on Metro to commute can expect a cost of living allowance.
