If the schools want to teach the Biblical version of creation, they can do it in comparative religions class. It does not belong in science class.

And then, when they get to college.

Our new adjunct professor friend likely knows by now, kids are coming to college out of high school barely able to write a 5 paragraph intro-point1-point2-point3-conclusion paper.

It’s hard to do, I imagine, when you have not been taught even basic spelling, and grammar.
