Well, how about Cicadas?

Noisy, sorta ugly to look at. Occasional massive local outbreaks. But at least they go see us and go OM NOM NOM.

You should see our cat pepper go after crickets! She killed at least 3 dozen last spring, she whacks them with her paws till they’re flat. We call her the “Intrepid Cricket Hunter”. Found at least 1 a day all spring long. Funny furrbie!
