Correct, McMaster. My mistake.

National Security Advisor does not need confirmation unless that person is active duty (and 3-4 stars), hence Condoleeza Rice did not need confirmation.

Now we’re back to the same place we started. It’s not that National Security Adviser EVER requires confirmation. It’s that ANY 3-4 star active duty General needs confirmation of his posting WHATEVER IT IS.
