Well, I’m not sure about that. That would mean only the rich could be delegates.

My own almost-moribund county Democratic party wanted me to be a delegate to the state party convention. I could not afford it.

I have been getting E-mails from the Democratic Party about paying for delegates hotels and airfare to the convention in Philadelphia. (I believe the party is paying for it, but I am unsure)

My friends who are national delegates are fund-raising for their expenses. The state party and others have helped by holding events and donating items to be auctioned to help with funding.

The Bernie bullshit is that all of Hillary’s delegates are richy riches who can well afford it, while Berners are poor, suffering students and other brands of poor who are being “disenfranchised” by the DNC. They even said as much in one of their emails.

The info on what it would cost has been available on the state party websites for months and months. This “Ooooh, nobody told us until yesterday” is just a bunch of crap.

I’ll add that my friends who are going as delegates are far from rich. But they’re DEMOCRATS who have paid enough attention to know what the deal is instead of whining incessantly like the poor, put upon Berners.
