This ought to be a lesson to all the American evangelicals who are on the Drumpfskind train: once a populist strongman feeds the blood-lust of the masses, your religion won’t matter so much:

For most, their “religion” never mattered anyway. It has always been more important to adhere to traditional power structures in America, white entitlement, good ol’ boy network, golf buddy business meetings, local power over national power, naked racism, and ownership/domination of women and girls. Their “religion” has been engineered over the past 40 years and is based on these principles.
