Is Kerry now saying that he believes Palin is a strong, smart woman?

Would this response have come had Palin not initially responded to Kerry’s foolish statement?

What would the “mature” response have been?

I’m not saying I want her to go all lawsuit or anything. Just have some cake and eat it too: “Gosh, I certainly hope that creepy comment was a joke” or “Don’t get too excited, I’m pretty sure he was joking. Hard to tell, sometimes, but he’s not as bad as he makes himself sound, whenever he opens his mouth”.

Something not freaking out, but still with some rebuke in it.
