re: #308 Obdicut

Well, I’m with you up until the last sentence. The crunch has been on, and they have not disintegrated; they elected Hamas. I’m not saying we were wrong to ‘crunch’, but that they will not necessarily collapse from within because of economic conditions. Look at North Korea. And that collapse does mean huge, huge amounts of suffering amongst the population, many of whom have simply been fed an enormous diet of bullshit propaganda from age one.

I don’t have an alternate solution, though, except moving away from oil so that we can defund the Islamic states.

The crunch HAS NOT been on. They get billions upon billions. The U.N. doesn’t have the balls or brains, I’m not sure which to actually monitor what happens to all of it each year. Money that comes from the U.S. and E.U., funneled through the U.N. for refugees. The agency in UNRWA. The money goes to Gaza, Egypt, Jordan and the West Bank.

Egypt and Jordan “refugees” shouldn’t get a dime because they are citizens of their own countries, not refugees. They should be getting benefits from their own governments.

I do have a solution. Start monitoring the money that goes into the black hole of UNRWA. The Palestine textbooks and curriculum funded by UN money still tells of a Middle East history that doesn’t include Jews or Israel on the map. The Clintons fought the U.N. on this during Bill’s administration and didn’t get too far. I have a ton of links on that if you’re interested.
