Check your state’s dept of labor for voc rehab programs and start pushing for evaluations as soon as the kid is high school age. If you have any Vo-Tech high schools in the area,I’d push for entry into those instead of regular high school. I wish I had that last option here,but there’s been so many cuts to those kinds of vo-tech programs that there wasn’t a place for my son and what’s left isn’t really true vo-tech(ie;working with one’s hands to learn a trade). I’m hoping the dept of labor will accept him into the voc-rehab program,it’s a long process.
