The events were well documented as it became a public health matter when the group sex these teens were involved in produced a syphilis outbreak. The excerpt here cites “six white female subjects (four of whom were younger than 16 years of age)” and goes on to describe the minors as only being under the age of 16.

It is over a decade since it happened, but IIRC at least one of the four was 10 when she contracted syphilis. I will look further for the links, but thought you’d find the sources credible.
