The truth right here. I voted for Obama because I thought he’d be a better president than McCain. it’s really that simple! I had no illusions that he’d magically give me a pony or reverse course when it came to executive power. Sometimes I wonder if some Americans would be happier with a king.

Yeah. No one comes out of their first national security meeting the same as they entered. Once they get briefed the come out of the room looking a bit pale.

Speaking of kings. There’s some political theory about how a large segment of populations are attracted towards benevolent dictators which is akin to a king. I believe that would be true even in the USA.
