re: #325 realwest

Hi SE! I fear you’re absolutely correct about that. I mean some LGFer’s (reine or jorline, perhaps) have remarked on the truly deplorable conditions under which some of the Katrina survivors still live - their “mobile” homes and all.
And I’m afraid, while we do go around and around about good/bad of government, even we tend to blame a political party, when the reality is that government just doesn’t do much of anything very well nor, worse yet, humanely.

Hey, RW! Always good to hear from you.

Well, I would argue that the government does do a lot of things very well, or at least pretty well. My hat’s off to law enforcement and firemen and members of the military, all of whom work around the clock to keep my sorry butt safe even when I sleep. The Post Office has been very good to me, despite all the flak they catch. And there’s a soft spot in my heart for school teachers. The list goes on.

I figure we citizens have only two real choices, when it comes to being governed: (1) Call the whole thing off, and join the Militia or the Sovereigns movement, or (2) kick the government’s collective rear ends daily until they shape up and treat us the way they should.

I opt for No. 2, by the way. :)
