I’m very pessimistic yes…look at a map…that area is very difficult to even get to…the Taliban will vanish…there will be no targets…we will have to hunt them down, a game they are indeed very good at…it would take years…then what?…stay there forever?…why?…what’s the point?

The only way to get rid of those bastards is make it VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for the people that aide them and help them hide. On both sides of the border. These Taliban assholes do not exist in a vacuum. They have a safe haven in the border area because there is little consequence to the warlords and chieftains that help them out now. Let’s make it clear that siding with them will be very painful in several ways. Strength and power is what they understand in that part of the world. Talking to them and asking them nicely to be a good sport and point out the bad guys does not work. Drones, proxies or actual boots on the ground is the only way. Show them what happens when you play with fire - you get burnt.

Not that I think Obama will do anything….
