Classic. The joke was made at the wrong time (Reagan was about to give a radio address and didn’t know the mike was already transmitting), but it was damn funny. Ronald Reagan had a good sense of humor. The Tea Party people who claim his legacy should develop their own sense of humor. It would help them greatly.

IIRC, what truly cranks the hilarity up to 11 was that the Soviet ambassador was sitting in a chair right next to the podium when he said that.
