I mean data about not having one of the two sexes involved as a parent regardless of the reason. No father = causative effect. No mother = causative effect.
You can’t really separate that from gay parenting, though. That’s innately twinned. You can’t be sure if the factor is the missing male/female from the equation, or the presence of societal onus on a gay couple/divorced woman/single mom.
