I saw a family completely devasted and all they had to eat was 1 can of peas..They were waiting to open it..There are no words for this horror..

Indeed. Even in the best of times life is a struggle in Haiti.

I recall a story I was told by a close friend of his childhood. He remembered watching a lone Papaya on the tree for days, hungry, his grand-mere saying, “No, don’t eat it yet, let it ripen more.”

And he lived in Ptionville, attended an elite school and was well off compared to those living below in Port-au-Prince. The poverty and deprivation suffered in Haiti is unimaginable.
