I suspect there will be some horse-trading done to secure his resignation if they believe the charges serious enough that conviction is conceivable. Possibly getting the DNC to agree to avoid bringing charges against Don Jr and/or Jared. I don’t believe Mitch really wants to spend the better part of two years dodging accusations that he allowed the most unpopular president since Nixon to avoid conviction on felony charges.

If this comes to pass, we are truly and deeply fucked - and are not really America at all.

Consequences. There has got to be consequences. Real, tangible consequences. Jail time and massive fines or confiscations.

If Dems do this, it will forever tarnish them as not having done the right thing.
