re: #376 LudwigVanQuixote

BoA are some serious fuckers. Some years ago, they lost one of my pay checks after I had deposited it, in person, to a person behind the counter. I had the receipt.

When I say lost, I mean they physically lost the check.

So they had credited my account because the teller punched it in, but then a few days later pulled the money out without telling me and caused a couple of things to bounce which of course led to overdraft fees and a whole bunch of hassle.

In the course of trying to clear that up, they tried to tell me that the receipt I held did not mean that they actually received my paycheck and argued with me about how nice they would be if they removed even one overdraft fee!

Well… let’s just say they will never get my business again.

BoA is the servicer of my mortgage. A short version of part of my sysiphean task.

Lost job 3 years ago. After a few months, applied for HAMP (home mortgage workout). Qualified. Sent paper. Wife’s last name misspelled - close, but not the same as her actual (which is on original loan papers). Called BoA asked what to do? Lined through and corrected with Notary watching, we all signed. Rejected because we modified the paperwork.

For the past 2 and a half years I’ve been in the workout process. Every time we get the final papers with her name misspelled the same way. i’ve told them when they give solutions over the phone that unless it’s fixed OR correction instructions are given to us in writing that we can’t sign - notary won’t accept wrong person by ID. I have to re-start the process every few months as there’s a time limit. Oh, and three times a specialist has been assigned and has left the company before it’s finished. Two of those, the specialist “lost the paperwork”.

I get a weekly call telling me I’m overdue, and each call, even acknowledging it’s their error, results in a hit to my credit rating. For three years now.

If BoA were to go up in a fire, I’d feel sorry for everyone at the bottom rung for losing a job and joining the ranks of unemployed. For the rest, I’d bring food to cook over the fire and savor the Banker-flavored meals for a long time.
