They’ve been getting teachers directly from China. I think that’s the problem. They don’t know what to do with American students, particularly those in low income schools who aren’t necessarily the most well-mannered.
I did want to suggest to you that there is a great need for science teachers who are comfortable with ELL students and know how to teach them.

Yes, I can see how the Chinese teachers would be lost in a rowdy American classroom. Especially if they don’t have much experience. My students taught three years in a Thai high school, so she was pretty seasoned by the time she ended up in Massachusetts.
