The former is false. We will stop burning petroleum as soon as it is cheaper and easier to get all our energy from other sources.

Unless vested interests use their oil money and pet politicians to prevent other action. Unless other vested interests in misplaced enviro concerns use their influence and pet politicians to prevent action as well.

A nuke plant in the long run would already be cheaper.
